A new biometric card is being introduced for foreign nationals holding long-stay visas in Madagascar.

This card is produced, signed, and issued by the Ministry of the Interior and incorporates the latest technologies for protecting the identification and authenticity of the system, in accordance with international standards and security objectives.
The validity period of a resident card corresponds to that of the residence visa granted to the holder.
All foreign nationals holding a resident card are required to obtain the new biometric resident card.
The issuance of the resident card is subject to the payment of a fixed fee.

Steps to follow:
- Preparation and collection of the various documents
- Submission of documents and photographs to the Ministry of the Interior, accompanied by our representative,
- Follow-up on the notification letter one month after submission, by our representative
- Payment of fees and submission of proof of payment upon receipt of the notification letter, by our representative
- Follow-up and retrieval of the residence card and biometric visa affixed to the passport one month after payment

- 2 passport photos
- Information form
- Application addressed to the Ministry of the Interior and Decentralization, including an email address and cell phone number
- Certified photocopy of a valid visa
- Certified photocopy of the first page of the passport
- Certified photocopy of a valid residence card
- Certificate of residence in Madagascar
- Criminal record check issued within the last three (3) months

- Work Permit issued in Madagascar by the Ministry of Civil Service

- Birth certificate issued within the last 6 months (child) or marriage certificate (family record book)
- Proof of income for men seeking family reunification
- Work permit for workers seeking family reunification
